BRAVEHEART

Directed by Mel Gibson

I remember the first time I saw Braveheart. I was really in the mood for a good flick and I talked my brother into going to see "Outbreak" with me. We got to the theater about ten minutes too late and decided to see something that hadn't started yet. I remembered seeing the making of "Braveheart" on HBO and it honestly didn't appeal to me a whole lot. Our other choices were few so we went ahead and bought tickets to this one. Little did I know the surprise that awaited me. I sat glued to the screen the full three hours, without even thinking about going to the bathroom. This movie grabbed me and honestly changed something inside of me. After seeing the vision of this film, I understood why it was worth fighting for and possibly even dying for what you believe in. It is a belief that has stayed with me to this day. There are many things about the movie that hit me, but this was the biggest aspect of all. It had it all, the action, the romance, the tragedy, the betrayal, a hero of integrity and great inspirational lines. This grand epic definatley deserves a place in the "Best of All Times" films. Mel Gibson has always been one of my favorite actors and has done a fine job as director as well. I hope he will do so again with his next effort.
